Course Description: The OSHA Outreach Training Program for the Construction Industry teaches construction workers about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid, and prevent job related hazards.

 

Learning Outcomes: Recognize what worker rights are protected under OSHA and responsibilities an employer has under OSHA. Identify major fall hazards, common caught-in or -between hazards, common struck-by hazards, types of electrocution hazards, ways to select appropriate PPE and lifesaving equipment, major health hazards common to the construction industry. Recognize how to protect oneself from material handling hazards and hand & power tool hazards. Recognize ways to protect oneself from crane hazards. Recognize employer requirements for protecting workers from concrete & masonry hazards, including abatement methods. Identify major steel erection hazards and recognize ways to protect oneself from welding & cutting hazards. Describe types of confined space hazards and recognize ways to protect oneself from confined space hazards. Recognize employer requirements for providing a safety and health program that effectively reduces and prevents employee injury, illness, and fatality. Describe types of health and safety construction hazards and appropriate forms of mitigation.

Course Completion: Upon successful completion of training, students will receive a 30 Hr OSHA course completion certificate. Within 90 days after training completion, students will also receive a 30 Hr Construction OSHA card from the OSHA Training Institute (OTI).

 

Course Fees: No course completion material(s) will be released until ALL account balances have been paid in full. Fees include cost of all training materials. Valid photo ID required.
